NBA Preseason is finally over (not that anyone watches) which means the regular season is around the corner. A few comments I have about some teams…..
Atlanta – deep playoff run last season. I don’t expect anyone to take them lightly this season.
Boston – this isn’t a championship roster but Jason Tatum can score. To lead this team on a deep playoff run he needs to take on the challenge of being a better playmaker, defender and rebounder.
Brooklyn – Kyrie and injuries will determine how far this team goes. They need to get a rim protector before the playoffs in case they run into the Bucks again.
Chicago – the Bulls should be good offensively and put up a lot of points…..they also look like they will be bad defensively and give up a lot of points so this team should be fun to watch.
Dallas – will Luka get out the 1st round ?
Denver – the injury to Jamal Murray killed the Nuggets chances of winning a championship last season. He’s the engine that drives this team so how he plays will determine this team’s success.
Golden State – waiting to see how this team looks when Klay Thompson comes back
LA Clippers – some people think they are a championship contender with Kahwi, others think they are the same ol’ Clippers. I say the same thing I said last season, who is supposed to be the playmaker on this team because it’s obvious they need one.
LA Lakers – this roster looks like the All-Star team from 2012. If LeBron can win a 5th title in his 19th season with Russell Westbrook as his teammate the G.O.A.T conversation needs to be revisited.
Miami – I don’t understand how a 35-year old PG Kyle Lowry makes the Heat better. The Heat also don’t have a bench.
Milwaukee – the Bucks earned their championship beating Miami, Brooklyn, Atlanta and Phoenix. Will they start the season with a championship hangover ?
New Orleans – I watch this team specifically to see Zion and he’s hurt again to start the season.
New York – an offensively challenged team that made the playoffs last year by playing hard every night and working teams in the regular season. Will they be able to pull it off again ?
Philadelphia – this is a weird team to figure out how they will finish the season because it always seems the pieces don’t fit. The Ben Simmons drama doesn’t help.
Phoenix – with Chris Paul a year older do the Suns make another deep playoff run ?
Portland – hard to build a championship roster in Portland, how long does Dame stay with Trailblazers ?
Sacramento – sometimes I honestly forget the Kings are in the NBA.
San Antonio – the Spurs are like that high school team that has a basketball team only because all of the other surrounding high schools has a basketball team. It’s like they play for the sake of playing. The Spurs aren’t bad enough to get a top draft pick and aren’t good enough to be a playoff team. That’s equivalent to No Man’s Land in the NBA.
Utah – is Donovan Mitchell a #1, someone that can lead a team on a championship run ?
