Arizona – Cardinals have a defensive head coach and new defensive players, do they have enough on offense to compete for a playoff spot. Former #1 overall pick QB Kyler Murray has a lot to prove. 6 seasons, 1 playoff appearance, 0-1 playoff record.
Atlanta – Drafted 2 edge rushers in the 1st round of the draft. For Atlanta to have a chance to be successful at least 1 of them has to be impactful and QB Michael Penix has to prove he can play in the NFL.
Carolina – Panthers are doing what they can to help QB Bryce Young but they didn’t do enough to fix a defense that set an NFL record for points allowed in a season.
Chicago – New coach, rebuilt offensive line, and new attitude. This season is not only on QB Caleb Williams but also new head coach Ben Johnson. It doesn’t help they have to play in the NFL’s toughest division.
Dallas – Cowboys look worse than last season. Washington has now surpassed them in the division and their new head coach could be gone after 1 season.
Detroit – Lions lost both coordinators and their All-Pro center. Regression this season is expected.
Green Bay – Packers are a good team but they do not have a great player in any position unit.
LA Rams – If Matt Stafford plays at a high level this team will be good. How far this team can go depends on how well their CB’s play and their run defense.
Minnesota – Roster from top to bottom is probably the best in the NFL and definitely in the top 3. JJ McCarthy has a lot of weapons on offense and a good offensive line. If he can’t put up numbers in this offense the Vikings should look for a replacement.
New Orleans – could be the worst team in the league.
NY Giants – This season is about can they stay out of last place and when does Jaxson Dart play.
Philadephia – Expect regression with the Eagles. They lost starters on the defensive line, LB and secondary. Huge offensive lineman Mechi Becton is now with the Chargers and Saquon Barkley’s history suggests he will not come close to his production last season.
San Francisco – Offense this season is being built around the skills of Brock Purdy which means RB’s that can catch are better suited in the offense than a bruising RB. Kyle Shanahan has a lot to prove this season with the NFL’s perceived easiest schedule.
Seattle – Luckily for the Seahawks they can get out of the Sam Darnold deal after 1 season if things don’t go well.
Tampa Bay – Not much competition in the NFC South. It’s expected 1st round draft pick WR Emeka Eguba from Ohio State should fit in seamlessly.
Washington – Tougher schedule and expectations is a huge contrast from the past. Expect more than 5 losses this season.
